Protecting orang-utan habitat for Christmas

Instead of sending paper Christmas cards, for the third year running I’ve made a donation to the World Land Trust (WLT). This time I’ve chosen to support their Borneo Orang-utan Appeal, which will help them protect crucial areas of orang-utan habitat that are threatened with clearance for oil palm plantations.

Click here to read more about the project or here to see my certificate.

In 2007 UN scientists predicted that encroaching oil palm plantations could take the Bornean orang-utan to the brink of extinction in the wild by 2012, so time is fast running out! If you'd like to support WLT’s campaign, you can donate here - just put ‘Borneo Orang-utan appeal’ in the comment box.

Investing in Brazil

With preparations underway for hosting the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, Brazil is experiencing impressive economic growth at a time when many countries are still struggling.

If you’re considering tapping into the Brazilian market, there has never been a better time. As a fluent Portuguese-speaker with ten years of marketing experience and some excellent contacts in Brazil, I can help you achieve it.

Green Drinks @ the Global

It’s now been three years since I took on the role of co-ordinator for Reading Green Drinks. A group of us who care about environmental and ethical issues meet up for relaxed networking at the Global Café from 6.30 to 8.30pm on the first Tuesday of every month.

The Reading meeting is one of hundreds that take place monthly all over the world so, if you’re not based locally, click here to see if there’s a group near you.
